Mike Bailey is a Fine Art Photographer and the owner of A Shoebox Of Memories. With over 20 years of experience he specializes in landscapes, wildlife and still life photography. He is a teacher of this art form and provides large format printing and framing for the local arts community and customers.
For the past seven years Mike has been dividing his time between Ontario and Casa Grande, Arizona. Many of his pictures capture the American Southwest and the Ontario seasonal changes. His style is to capture what he sees and feels about the scene or object directly in front of him. He looks for the simple, often overlooked images, and draws out their unique beauty.
Through his unique vision he gives new life and vibrancy to his subject matter, hoping to capture the essence and emotion of the moment. There is a story to tell for each of his photographs and he loves to share the adventure and the experience with his customers and followers.
Most of his work is one of a kind and rarely reproduced. He is an award-winning artist, winning the Government of Ontario Award (Recycling Category). The winning piece was a picture of a rotunda of a decommissioned Toronto Don Jail that was repurposed to accommodate a medical facility. The picture was later gifted to the Deputy Minister of Corrections, at his retirement.
He has many repeat customers, who always include his work, in their homes, offices or purchase his photographs for gifts. A regular participant in the Thanksgiving Images Tour, he has an opportunity to showcase his art style, with other talented artists. His work was well received at a 2022 one person show at the Creative Nomad Studios, Orillia, ON.
Mike has participated as a member and Board Director of many arts related committees, in and around the Orillia, ON and Simcoe County Area and was recently featured at a gallery in Muskoka, ON.
All photographs are printed high quality and archival materials for longevity and can be custom framed. Lessons are offered in his studio and other locations. So dive in and take a look at his galleries, where you will find selections for every occasion. New work is added regularly, so return on a regular basis.
